Installation Notes

Installation steps (typical for front wheel cylinder):

1. Safely lift and support the vehicle – remove the front wheel and brake drum.

2. Clean the brake assembly – use brake cleaner to remove dust and debris.

3. Disconnect the brake line – from the back of the old wheel cylinder using a flare nut wrench. Cap the line.

4. Remove the old wheel cylinder – unbolt the two mounting bolts from the backing plate.

5. Clean the backing plate mounting surface – remove old gasket/sealant.

6. Compare new cylinder with old – verify bore size, bolt spacing, and port orientation.

7. Install new wheel cylinder – apply a thin film of brake grease to the mounting flange. Bolt to backing plate. Torque bolts to specification (typically 10-15 Nm).

8. Reconnect the brake line – hand-start, then tighten with flare nut wrench. Do not cross-thread.

9. Reinstall brake shoes and hardware – ensure pushrods engage properly.

10. Reinstall brake drum and wheel – adjust shoes if needed.

11. Bleed the brake system – start from the wheel farthest from the master cylinder.

12. Check for leaks – inspect the new cylinder and line fitting.

13. Test drive – ensure proper braking and no pulling.
